OBIT: MICHAEL WAYMON THOMAS

Michael Waymon Thomas, affectionately known to all as Mike graced this world with his presence on August 6, 1961. After a life well-lived, marked by his unwavering love and infectious laughter, he departed from this realm on February 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with warmth, compassion, and countless cherished memories.

A true embodiment of kindness, Mike was the kind of person who would welcome anyone into his orbit with open arms and a radiant smile. His infectious sense of humor could light up even the darkest of days, transforming the mundane into moments of joy and connection. Every conversation with him was a gift, filled with laughter and camaraderie that made all feel at home.

Mike found profound pleasure in the simple joys of life. Riding bikes along sun-dappled paths brought him an exhilarating sense of freedom, while the embrace of the great outdoors during yard work mirrored his unyielding appreciation for nature. He cherished these moments, each pedal stroke and every blade of grass tended to, a reflection of his patient spirit and boundless energy.

As a man who dressed sharp with effortless flair, Mike approached life with style and grace that matched his personal ethos. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever remember the way he could transform an ordinary day into an extraordinary occasion simply by being himself.

While he has moved on from this life, his loving presence continues to linger in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. In every shared laugh, in every yard thrust into bloom by his careful touch, Mike lives on as a beacon of love and kindness. His legacy remains, woven into the fabric of countless lives, reminding us to live with passion, to spread joy, and to always, always welcome others into our hearts.

As we prepare to bid farewell to this remarkable individual, a Prayer Service will be held in his honor at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas, on February 21, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM and concluding at 7:00 PM. The following day, family and friends will gather at Christ Centered Missionary Baptist Church, also in Fort Worth, for a Funeral Service that starts at 11:00 AM and will conclude around noon on February 22, 2025.

Mike’s legacy will live on in the laughter of those whose lives he enriched and in the countless memories shared. His spirit will forever be a reminder of the loving, caring, kind, and funny person he was—a truly welcoming soul who made the world a better place. May we continue to celebrate his life and let his memory guide us toward kindness and connection, just as he embodied throughout his time with us.
