
Dr. Lois Harrison-Jones has served as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, deputy supt. in Dallas, TX and superintendent of schools in Richmond, VA and Boston, MA. She was an Associate Professor at Harvard University and is the Professor Emerita of the Howard University School of Education. She was the first woman supt. of schools in Richmond, VA, the first Black woman supt. of schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; and the first Black woman to serve as a Community Ambassador to Northern Ireland. She’s a Past President of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) and has been a member of the Richmond, VA; Dallas, TX and Prince George’s County, MD affiliates. She has degrees from VA State University; Temple University; and a doctorate in Educational Administration from VA Tech.
