Dr. Lavern Holyfield was the first African American to graduate from Baylor School of Dentistry! A 50-year member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Dr. Lavern is chair of the Faculty Development Committee (FDC) at Texas A&M University School of Dentistry where she is directly responsible for oversight, planning and implementation of initiatives to foster professional development and skills enhancement among the faculty. On July 1, 2023, she became the 35th President of the South Dallas Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. and she has served in several leadership positions including National Vice President. A true servant leader!
