Fort Worth – The Fort Worth City Council has officially approved access to the Southside Community Center site for the National Juneteenth Museum’s development. The museum will provide a new travel destination, educational programs, and serve as a catalyst for economic growth in Fort Worth’s Historic Southside.

With this approval, the museum is also unveiling new architectural renderings by the renowned Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). The innovative design reflects the resilience and richness of African American culture and aims to foster education, growth, and connection within the community.

The National Juneteenth Museum will be a 50,000 square-foot epicenter for education and celebration of Juneteenth that is dedicated to building opportunities to advance future generations.
