Flewellen’s has been committed to sponsoring and supporting events for the advancement of the community. The salon has significantly invested in the community by providing jobs and training for many in the beauty industry. Flewellen’s Salon joined the fight against HIV/AIDS; bringing awareness and helping dispel the stigma associated with the disease. An orphanage in South Africa is named in honor of Mary Flewellen.
