Gamers worldwide are ready for the return of EA Sports’ college football video game after a decade-long absence.
But will HBCUs be represented in the game?
Not officially, since EA Sports indicated FCS teams will not be part of the initial launch.
Gamers will be able to insert their alma maters and favorite schools in the game thanks to College Football 25’s Dynasty Mode, which will be available upon the game’s official release on July 19.
Thanks to court rulings and the success of name, image and likeness (NIL), this will be EA’s first college football game since College Football ’14 back in 2013.
According to an EA Sports press release that was published Friday, Dynasty Mode allows players to “Create a coach and take control of your own college football program. Establish your coaching staff, then work to recruit the best talent either straight from high school or direct from the transfer portal.”
Gamers will benefit from options such as coaching archetypes and skill trees to make their created program eligible for the 12-team College Football Playoff. If the playoff system featuring FBS schools is not appealing, the College Football Team Builder website will provide gamers with customization tools to create their own program.
With the options and resources available, one can be certain that gamers from Howard to Hampton and Langston to Edward Waters will insert their schools in the game and lead them to virtual championship glory.
