Tennessee State football head coach Eddie George named Travis Partridge as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Partridge replaces Tyler Roehl, who departed barely a month after taking the Tigers job to accept the associate head coach and running backs coach positions at Iowa State.

“I am thrilled to welcome Travis to our staff,” George said in a statement. “With a robust coaching background and a deep understanding of our offensive strategies, he brings valuable expertise to our team. Hailing from a championship program within the conference, Travis will undoubtedly be a significant asset to our football program.”

Tennessee State football head coach Eddie George named Travis Partridge as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Partridge was previously the pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UT Martin. There, he constructed the second most prolific passing game in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 269.5 yards per game.

Under his tutelage, quarterback Dresser Winn enjoyed the best season of his collegiate career, completing 61.2 % of his passes, throwing for 2,928 yards and 18 touchdowns on the path to making the All-OVC Second Team.

The Skyhawks passing game also featured All-OVC performing wideouts Colton Dowell, who posted 67 receptions for 1,036 yards and six touchdowns, and DeVonte Tanksley, who pulled in 53 passes for 653 yards.

Partridge also served at Kansas as an offensive quality control coach in 2019 and 2020 and was also the interim quarterbacks coach in 2021.

He also had a previous run at UT Martin on Jason Simpson’s staff in 2018 as quarterbacks coach. Under his guidance, SkyHawks’ signal-callers threw for 2917 yards, completing 62.8 % of their passes, with 21 touchdowns.
