Our society today is dealing with many Social Issues, Covid Cases, Vaccines and killings that are making the headlines.

The forever changing climates, cultures and conditions in this world appears to create cloudy conditions and bring out the turbulence in the lives of so many people.

Dr. Michael Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College (PQC) seems to be the calm in the storm. He is changing lives of the students at the College.

Last Wednesday, the students got together for a Thanksgiving meal before heading home for the holidays. Dr. Sorrell addressed the crowd of students and staff and provided a state address of hope and forecasted the activities for the upcoming semester.

He continued with an open forum for the students to ask questions related to various items as it related to the College.

It was really enjoyable to see how the students responded to school President- “Prez.” Prior to presenting their questions. Each student was asked to state their names, their majors and what they wanted to pursue after graduation.

I am a firm believer that if you repeat your goals, your chances of reaching those goals are greater. I applaud PQC along with the administration for having an open forum for their students to present themselves and ideas.

Also, Dr. Sorrell applauded the achievements of student athletes from the Fall Sports.
