Sunday, temperatures reached 108 degrees, and according to predictions, it’s only going to get hotter.
Now would be the worst time to have air-conditioning issues, especially with reportings of AC part shortages all across Texas.
Steve Stewart, owner of Southern Comfort Mechanical Heating and A/C Specialists in Lewisville, told NBC 5 it could take two or more days for a technician to be sent out to a home.
With this heat, many can’t wait two days, especially if not properly hydrated.
Many wondered if the death of former NFL Dallas Cowboys running back, Marion Barber III occurred because of an instance like this.
Police found the 38-year-old dead in his apartment on June 1. Yesterday, police announced the cause of his death was heatstroke.
The thermostat was set to 91 degrees when authorities arrived, though the coroner reported Barber was “known to exercise in sauna-like conditions.”
Was his AC broken, or was he just working out? We may never know, but we hope to find all the answers soon.
Stay cool and hydrated everyone.
