An Arkansas-Pine Bluff softball pitcher got her first win of the season in emphatic fashion, tossing a perfect game in the Lions’ 11-0 blanking of Oklahoma Panhandle State in the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic.

Danika Bryant struck out 11 of the 15 batters she faced in her five innings of work.

The Golden Lions got off to an explosive start via an 8-hit, 10-run bottom of the first inning that essentially put the game away. The UAPB bats were largely silent for the remainder of the game, only scoring one more run via a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the fourth.

The game was ended after five innings per the “run-ahead” rule, after the Golden Lions led by more than eight runs.
