Vernell Greer Tyler, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother departed this life Friday December 30, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born November 18, 1935 in Kaufman, Texas to Edward Nobles and Willie Lou Johnson-Fields whom both precedes her in death along with her special mother Jewel Nobles.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated and faithful member of Illinois Avenue Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the church clerk, a member of the choir, on the Finance Committee and was active in the Elizabeth circle until she could no longer serve.

After high school, she met and married Eli Greer, Jr. in Kaufman Texas. They were blessed with eight children. During this marriage, she was a stay at home wife and mother dedicated to taking care of her family. She moved to Dallas and worked for K-Mart Corporation. She later met and married James M Tyler and became a parent to four additional children. She shared a life of love with James until his death in 2007.

She enjoyed traveling to National Baptist church conventions and California to visit with her family. After retiring from K-Mart, she dedicated her life to caring and raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. During her later years, she took pleasure in watching Westerns, Ion-TV, Day-Time Soap Operas and the visits of her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sisters: Regetta Nobles, Sally Guillam. Brothers: Richard Fields, Bill Emerson. Daughters: Pamela Gibson, Patricia Greer. Son: Gary Tyler. Grandson: Charles Miller Jr. and Great-granddaughter Daigan Thomas.

Her legacy will live on through her Sons: Charles, Curtis, Gregory, and Patrick. Daughters: Diana, Debra, Tonya, Jacqueline, and Sherlyn. Brothers: Lige Fields Jr., Charles Fields and Terry Fields. Sisters: Stella Taylor and Linda Bogany. 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
