Cleo DeAnna Washington was born on December 31, 1935 in Galveston, TX to Luther Washington Sr. and Sadie Lou Thompson. Abandoned at the age of five into the teaching hands of Theresa Lee who raised her. She has been through many things on her path: a hustler, seamstress, nurse’s aide, and amongst the first Black women wielders to hold a position with the City of Beaumont water department, an ordained Minister, mother, sister, and friend, and a woman warrior of God carved from Loves Limestone. She made many sacrifices for her children on her Journey to the Crown. It’s not where you start, but where you end.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William J. Lane; lifelong companion: Albert Living Jr. (Dad); sons: Clifton Harmanson Jr., Anthony Sly Davis, Augustus J. Reese (son-in-love); siblings: Luther Washington Jr. and Aileen Washington; great-grandson: Kaleb Smith.
Survived by children: Micheal T. Harmanson( Lovey), William J. Lane Jr, Demetrius O. Lane( Patricia) Leonard B. Lane (Renee) Hanna Marie Harmanson, Elizabeth Keller, Timothy C. Lane (Chay) and Valencia E. Lane ( Scholar); grandchildren: Alacia , Jayla, Payton Lanesha , Theresa, Wilnika, Cierra, Xavier, Tianna, Daniel, Neely, Andre , Ashley, Micheal Jr, Alexandria, Jailyne and Ebony; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Iyana, Alysa, Shaimar, Kinyatta, Ranae, Aleaxisia, Jaerre, Nigel, Nehemiah, and Anaya; great-great grandchildren: Mariah, Maison, Myla and Madelyn.
