Betty Gates

January 1, 1941 — November 19, 2022

Betty L. Gates was born July 8, 1941 to the late Precious Williams and Dorothy Dove Williams in Pollocksville, North Carolina. Alone with three brothers, Precious Williams, Jr., Jobie (Joyce) Williams, Rev. Daniel Lee Williams, three sisters, Mary Williams Hyman (deceased), Sylvia McMiller, Dorothy Ann Washington.

She graduated from high school in N.C. and soon moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she attended beauty school and Del Mar College. She went on to work at Christi Spohn Hospital where she retired and moved to Dallas and joined Japonica Baptist Church. She was a faithful member and loved the Lord.

Betty was a mother, friend and wife. She was called home February 5, 2022 to be with the Lord. She leaves two sons: Anthony (Kim) Hardeman, Nathan Gates and her daughter Tanya Hardem   an-Nixon; son-in-law, Rennie Nixon, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephew, uncles, relatives and friends.
