Wilmer Welcomes All to this Week’s Gingerbread-themes Holiday Celebration

Join the City of Wilmer this Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a Gingerbread-Themed Holiday Celebration.

The festivities will be at City Hall, City Square Gazebo, 128 N. Dallas Avenue, and will include the city’s annual Christmas tree lighting and photos with Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, our Elf, and even The Grinch.

While strolling around the holiday atmosphere with a hot chocolate or coffee, visit a food truck or holiday vendor, enjoy a Snow Globe Experience for a magical photo opportunity, or snap a few memories at the 360 Photo Booth. Afterward, let the children jump into the holiday spirit at the Gingerbread Bounce House.

There will be live holiday music as you enjoy the sounds of the season with the Wilmer Hutchins High School performing Christmas carols and festive songs.

While supplies last you can also pick up candy bags for the children at Mayo’s Tacos as well as tamales, warm punch or hot chocolate, as well as a festive piñata for everyone to enjoy. La Sonadita Paleteria is offering free corn in a cup, mini pancakes, and hot chocolate and be sure and stop at Chong Welding for candy bags for the children and well as a piñata, adding extra excitement for the little ones.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome everyone to enjoy Wilmer’s gingerbread-themed holiday celebration,” said Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta. “The holidays are a wonderful chance to enjoy family, friends and neighbors so join us Friday as we light the city’s Christmas tree and give thanks for the holidays upon us.
