Dallas joined cities nationwide in recognizing Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) with a press conference at City Hall. Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam Bazaldua reaffirmed the city’s commitment to transgender and non-binary residents, officially declaring March 31 as TDOV. Speakers, including Míchél Macklin, Tawn McGar, and Leslie McMurray, shared personal experiences and called for continued advocacy. LGBTQ+ liaisons Megan Sykes and Leiah Hutchings highlighted the Safe Place Program, ensuring protection against hate crimes. Iconic Dallas buildings were illuminated in TDOV colors of pink, white, and blue, symbolizing solidarity. The event reinforced a powerful message: Transgender individuals belong and will not be erased.
