DALLAS - The South Dallas/Fair Park Opportunity Fund’s (SDFPOF) 2025 Human Development Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) will open on Tuesday, February 18 for applications for grant funding. The NOFA will be open for five weeks, closing on Friday, March 21. During the application period, the Office of Economic Development will host two information sessions to provide more details about the application process and answer questions from potential respondents.
The SDFPOF human development program provides grants to nonprofits for new or expanded programs that create measurable improvements in workforce participation, small business growth, health, public safety, and educational outcomes. Eligible programs must be located within the fund’s designated service area or serve a population where at least 90% of the program beneficiaries are residents of that area. $200,000 per year is available to support transformative human development initiatives in the community.

About the SDFPOF
The South Dallas/Fair Park Opportunity Fund was created by City Council in 1989 to support the neighborhoods surrounding Fair Park. Under the current program statement, the SDFPOF provides loan and grant funds to promote economic development and support human development initiatives in the SDFPOF service area. Operating both a human development and economic development program, the fund’s board recommends grants and loans to the City Manager and City Council for South Dallas businesses and nonprofits whose projects align with the fund’s goals, which include expanding the area’s tax base and driving small business growth. Since 2020, more than $2.6 million has been approved by the SDFPOF board to support entities located in, or serving the residents of, its South Dallas service area.
