On March 1, 2024, the Black Heart Association (BHA) hosted its signature Living in Color Dinner Fundraiser at the Hilton Garden Inn Grand Prairie, marking the close of American Heart Health Month with a powerful evening of education, awareness, and giving back.
The event was more than just a dinner—it was a rallying call for individuals, businesses, and leaders to come together in the fight against heart disease, the leading cause of death for Black Americans. Conversations flowed at every table, touching on the importance of heart health, self-care, and overall wellness—from your heart to your heels, your mind to your body.

Guests enjoyed a heart-healthy dining experience, soulful live entertainment, and the opportunity to support the mission through silent auctions featuring Black-owned businesses. The event also highlighted BHA’s partnership with Sunshine’s Open Door Foundation (SODF), which provides mentorship and resources to young adults transitioning out of foster care.

Through donations and support, the evening made a lasting impact—funding heart health screenings, providing critical resources, and empowering communities through education and preventative care.
A night of celebration, generosity, and action—because together, we can create a healthier future.
