| Atlanta, GA (April 14, 2020) – For over 75 years, EBONY and JET Magazines have been on the frontlines of social and civil injustice. That mission is magnified especially due to the crippling paralysis of black people around the globe caused by the global pandemic. A pandemic that has recklessly disrupted the way we all do life and business indefinitely but also has highlighted the disparity for African Americans for everything from healthcare to financial stability. In rapid response, EBONYCon, a global online conference will be held on April 24-27, 2020. This virtual event will feature some of the most sought-after influencers, creatives, and experts to educate, empower and offer practical solutions to support entrepreneurs, leaders and organizations in successfully pivoting amid the pandemic. Each day, there will be a team providing step-by-step guidance on how to apply for available funding. The multi-day experience will consist of four (4) sectors of concentration: April 24: CLERGY AND THE BLACK CHURCH – in partnership with Rejoice! Musical Soul Food – America’s Premier Family-Friendly Network – a day of networking and information to church leaders on how to apply and obtain funding via the CARES ACT and worshiping in an era of social distancing. April 25-26: ENTREPRENEURSHIP – in partnership with the National Business League, will be a two-day experience of seasoned and successful entrepreneurs sharing what has and has not worked in launching their own companies and what’s required to build, scale and profit in business during these volatile economic realities. April 26 – HEALTH AND WELLNESS – galvanizing wellness and health professionals coming together as one voice of the wellness community to identify and represent the unique challenges and opportunities that face black and brown communities. April 27 – CANNABIS – in collaboration with High Times, the world’s leading source for cannabis news, information and culture since 1974. This multi-billion opportunity gives people of color the keys and roadmap to join and prosper in the world’s fastest-growing industry.
