DBCC HONORS LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS AND NON-PROFIT LEADERS AT 37TH ANNUAL QUEST FOR SUCCESS LUNCHEON

Presented by the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, the 37th Annual Quest for Success Luncheon will take place on May 10th at On The Levee, as a time to celebrate, honor and spotlight local entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders making a significant impact for the city.

DALLAS, TX, – The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce (DBCC) – an organizational advocate for the creation, growth, and general welfare of Black-Owned businesses in the North Texas Region – will present its 37th Annual Quest for Success Luncheon and Awards at On The Levee on May 10th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a special performance by GRAMMY award-winning entertainer and philanthropist, Mya

The highly anticipated awards presentation will be hosted by WFAA Channel 8 anchor Tashara Parker, and will honor 12 local entrepreneurs and non-profit leaders across the metroplex for their contributions to the business and civic communities.

Established in 1985 under the leadership of Thomas L. Houston, the DBCC Quest for Success Awards Luncheon has spotlighted many notable honorees including Roland Parrish (Chair and CEO of the National Black McDonald’s Operators Association), Hiawatha Williams (CEO and Founder of Williams Chicken) and Emma S. Rodgers (Founder of Black Images Book Bazaar and the Dallas Civil RIghts Museum).

“The Quest for Success Awards shine a light on businesses and nonprofits that aren’t just simply doing well for themselves, but for those leaders who are finding innovative ways to life the communities they serve,” said Harrison L. Blair, President of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s Quest is focused on arts-related businesses and arts-related nonprofits that continue to make a significant impact across North Texas. We hope that you will come and celebrate these leaders with us.”

The 2022 Quest for Success Awards Honorees Are:

  • Teresa Coleman Wash, Founder & Executive Artistic Director, The Bishop Arts Theater
  • Vicki Meek, Multimedia Artist and Independent Curator
  • Terry Loftis, President & Executive Director, The Arts Community Alliance (TACA)
  • Dr. Harry Robinson, Founder and CEO, The African American Museum of Dallas
  • Zenetta Drew, Executive Director, Dallas Black Dance Theater
  • Phillip Collins, Artist & Curator, Dallas Museum of Art
  • John Spriggins, Manager of South Dallas Cultural Center
  • Curtis King, Founder of The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL)
  • John Paul Baptist, Arts Commission Chair for the City of Dallas
  • Ann Williams, Founder of Dallas Black Dance Theater 
  • Arthello (Mae) Beck, Wife of Late Artist Arthello Beck (accepting his posthumous award) 
  • Darren James, President of KAI Enterprises

Guests at The Quest Awards will enjoy a seated lunch, live entertainment, and a special video presentation highlighting the Quest for Success honorees’ secrets to success.
