Crockett announces Congressional Challenge Coin Competition

Calling all artists…professional and amateur……

enter the TX-30 Congressional Challenge Coin Competition!

Challenge Coin

The Office of Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Dallas) is looking to engage artists (and aspiring artists!) of all ages to design our first Congressional Challenge Coin!

What is a Challenge Coin?

A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members. They are traditionally presented to military servicemembers, law enforcement officers, first responders, or civilians who have contributed an act of service to their community.

The TX-30 Challenge Coin will honor residents of our district who provide an act of service to our community in some way. The design of this coin will reflect the beauty and history of our district here in North Texas.

And that’s where YOU come in!

My office is hosting a Congressional Challenge Coin Design Competition to find the most creative design to manufacture into the very first TX-30 Congressional Challenge Coin. The winning design will be produced and distributed by my office – with the first Challenge Coin presented to the creator of the winning design.

To design and submit your coin, print the submission page, draw your design within the circle, and scan the finished design to upload it into the submission form (available here – note that you must verify you are a TX-30 resident to access this form). You may also submit a digitally created design, as long as it is within the borders of a circle.

The deadline to submit your design is June 28, 2024. All submissions are due at 11:59pm CST.

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

All eligible contestants for the TX-30 Congressional Challenge Coin Competition MUST be residents of Texas 30th Congressional District. Look up your congressional district here.

COIN DESIGN CRITERIA

The theme for this contest is Iconic TX-30, and should reflect the history, culture, landscape, or spirit of this home we all share.

The designs cannot contain words, faces, or graphic imagery.

Designs should be relatively simple, with clean lines and clearly separated colors. View examples of Challenge Coin designs here: Challenge coins find quarter with lawmakers on Capitol Hill (rollcall.com)

All submissions must be submitted electronically in a PDF, jpeg, or png high-resolution format.

Submit your design here!

Please note: ONLY ONE design submission per applicant.
