Garland’s 10 largest employers provide 3.3% of jobs, according to the city’s comprehensive annual financial report.

The report also shows that the city’s estimated population increased between the 2020 census count and the end of 2021. Garland’s population now stands at 246,173.

The annual average income of Garland residents remained the same from last year, when it reached $25,310. Since 2012, residents’ average income has increased $3,333.

In 2019, Kraft Heinz’s Garland plant created 250 new jobs with a $25 million expansion, earning it a spot as the largest employer in Garland.

Although Garland ISD employs more workers than Kraft Heinz, city officials didn’t include it on the list because it’s a government entity.
