Kidd’s award was presented by former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin.

The charity also honored former Iowa Women’s Basketball Head Coach Lisa Bluder with the Inspirational Award and now-outgoing Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia with the inaugural Toby Keith American Hero Award. Kidd, an NBA Hall-of-Famer and NBA champion with the 2011 Mavericks, signed a multi-year contract extension earlier this year. He led the Mavs to two playoff appearances in his first three seasons – including winning the Western Conference Finals in 2022 – and a surprising NBA Finals run this year after the Mavs won the Southwest Division title.
