The Second Annual Women of Power Symposium & Awards to Celebrate Exceptional Women Who Are Making a Difference in the Community

 24 Carat Speakers, an elite speaker’s agency, brought some of the most influential women in Dallas together at the second annual Women of Power Symposium & Awardson Saturday,  September 14, 2024

Themed“Step Into Your Greatness,” this year’s event featured an inspiring keynote address by Cheryl “Action” Jackson, multi-million dollar social entrepreneur and founder of Minnie’s Food Pantry. The event celebrated eight phenomenal women who are making a difference in the community.

A transformative event designed to empower women of all backgrounds and ages, the Women of Power Symposium & Awards featured a dynamic panel discussion featuring Dr. Renee Fowler,a senior pastor, strategist, entrepreneur, and consultant; Kelly Winget, an alternative investments expert and the founder of Alternative Wealth Partners (AWP); and Linda Ayaode, a professional brand strategist and owner and founder of LOI Graphics Inc. The women shared personal testimonies of overcoming challenges to achieve success, valuable insights based on lessons learned and words of wisdom. In addition, there was a “Voices of Wisdom” panel featuring Dr. Opal Lee and Mary Scichili 98 and 90 years of age respectfully, who shared their experiences and advice for navigating life successfully. 

“This is an empowering event that unites like-minded individuals for a day of learning, growing and connecting,” said Dr. Gladney. “I am excited about providing an open and welcoming environment for forging these meaningful connections and relationships.”

New this year was an awards ceremony that recognized and honored eight exceptional women for their outstanding contributions to supporting and empowering women in the community. They were celebrated for their tireless efforts and dedication to making a difference in the lives of women through advocacy, mentorship, leadership, and philanthropy.

  • Dr. Cheryl Jackson – Community Action Award
  • Cynt Marshall – Leadership Award
  • Dr. Opal Lee – Legacy Impact Award
  • Linda Fisk – Influencer Award
  • Daisha Board – Arts Award
  • Dr. Cheryl Polote Williamson – Trailblazer Award 
  • Cheryl Smith – Journalism Award
  • DeDe McGuire – Radio Award
