Dallas Southern Pride and Abounding Prosperity, Inc. will host a Health Impact Panel Discussion and has added several Dallas artists, including Sukihanna, VickeeLo, HaSizzle and Dallas Legends Lil Will, Big Tuck, and Tum Tum to the Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration, June 13-17, 2024.
The Health Impact Panel Discussion will take place 11 a.m. –2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1015 Elm St., Dallas, Texas 75202. The panel is designed to strengthen conversations regarding increase access to quality comprehensive healthcare for Black MSM and increase the knowledge and visibility of health inequities that affect Black MSM in Dallas to drive initiatives responsive to those needs. Also, on Friday will be a Welcome Reception hosted by Gilead Sciences, Dallas Southern Pride, and Abounding Prosperity, Inc at the Crowne Plaza at 7 p.m. with special guest Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. This event is free but you must rsvp.
Additionally, headliner Sukihanna and VickeeLo, HaSizzle and Dallas Legends Lil Will, Big Tuck, and Tum Tum will per- form at the Juneteenth Unity Festival and Pool Party on Saturday, June 15 from 4p.m. to 9 p.m. at Samuell-Grand Acquatic Center, 3201 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, Texas. There will also be voter registration, health screenings, career opportunities with the Dallas Police and Dallas Sheriffs Departments, and several local small business and non-profit vendors.
More than 20,000 people from across the nation and internationally are slated to attend this year’s Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration, which was created to celebrate the brilliance and culture of Black people. An idea birthed by community leader, business executive and activist, the late Kirk Myers-Hill, the Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration is the official annual celebration for Black communities to come together and celebrate their contributions to both American and Black culture, liberation and community.
CEO Tamara Stephney and COO Ahmad Goree are continuing that legacy.
The 2024 Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration is sponsored by Texas Health Action, AHF, VisitDallas, Avita, Tito’s, Crowne Plaza, Dallas Mavericks, Prism Health, Jack’d, Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District, ViiV Healthcare, CocaCola, Black Voters Matter, Abounding Prosperity, Inc., and Gilead Sciences.
Abounding Prosperity is offering a free to ticket to any event during the weekend to anyone who participates in a health screening.
