A 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting outside a Lewisville hookah lounge, police said.

Lewisville police officers arrested the teen at the Xquisite Smoke Shop in the 1300 block of West Main Street, near North Garden Ridge Boulevard, department officials said in a news release. The teen faces a murder charge in the Friday shooting outside the Luxor Hookah Lounge and is being held at the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.

It’s not clear if the teen has an attorney, and officials are not releasing his name because of his age.

A little before midnight, a 911 caller reported a shooting at the lounge in the 1600 block of South State Highway 121 Business, police officials said. A fight broke out between multiple people and during the fight, officials said, the 16-year-old allegedly began shooting.

Jayden Tramaine Anderson, 19, was killed in the shooting, and a second man suffered injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.

The investigation into the shooting is open, police officials said, as detectives seek to determine whether others were involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact detective Jordan Potter at 972-219-3635.
