Whether Lanez would be called to the stand, along with other witnesses, including Kylie Jenner, Corey Gamble and Lanez’ driver, Jaquan Smith, was still not certain by the end of the 11th day of court. Closing statements are expected to be presented on Dec. 21.

Detective Ryan Stogner, according to SOHH’s court reporter, TK Trinidad, reporting from the courtroom, was on the witness stand following the 911 caller, Sean Kelly’s testimony. The LAPD officer, Ryan Stogner, who was put on administrative leave following a domestic dispute, was named a key witness by Lanez’ defense attorney, George Mdgesyan.

Mdgesyan said Stogner was the investigating officer who interviewed Megan after the shooting and “botched” the investigation. According to the defense, Stogner failed to collect DNA evidence and GSR from former Megan’s bestie, Kelsey Harris. Stogner also interviewed Megan in 2020 and 2021 but there was no recording of the interviews. The defense also pointed out that Stogner didn’t ask certain questions he was in a position to ask during his investigation.

TORY LANEZ HELD IT, TOO?

As day 11 of the trial of singer, Daystarr Peterson, also known as Tory Lanez unfolds at the Los Angeles Superior Court, the 911 caller, Sean Kelly, said he saw Lanez and Kelsey Harris, Megan’s former assistant, with something that looked like sparks or fireworks after hearing the explosive sounds. Kelly didn’t use the word “gun” to describe what he saw in Harris and Lanez’ hands.

Kelly recalled being waking up to his child after hearing the commotion outside. He said that night he went to put his child back to bed when he saw through the windows a bleeding Megan hobbling to the driveway across from his home. When he was questioned by Lanez’ defense,  he said he saw Harris holding what could have may be looked like a muzzle or the fireworks. Harris at the time of the shooting was also Megan’s assistant and college best friend.

He said he called 911. He, later, was interviewed by LAPD detective Ryan Stogner; then by the prosecution and the defense. Once the prosecution began their cross-examination, Kelly later said he also saw Lanez with what he described as “fireworks.” LAPD Officer Rogilo Diaz was also one of the officers who interviewed Kelly, but didn’t ask him about the shooters.

THE DNA QUESTIONS

The prosecution insinuated and attempted to explain that Lanez’ inconclusive DNA, adding was wet from being in the pool and the reason there was no DNA on the gun. But the defense rebutted adding Lanez had been in the pool hours later after drinking and everything in between. Even if Lanez touched the gun DNA results were inconclusive and Harris’ DNA was never properly collected by detectives nor tested.

Closing statements expected to start Dec. 21. No update on the whearabouts of Megan Thee Stallion’s ex-bodyguard Justin Edison, nor has he been named in court. It’s only been said that a witness is missing.
